Counseling Referral Ministry

As Christians, we sometimes go through difficult times and need the special and focused care of trained professionals. The wise Sage of Proverbs reminds us "Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety" (Proverbs 11:14, ESV). Sometimes the most difficult step to take and yet the most important one is to ask for help when overwhelmed by life's problems, personal struggles, or family difficulties. Once this step is taken the question quickly rises, "Where do I turn for help?"

In this brochure (PDF) is a list of Christian counseling centers and other community resources designed to answer this question. We recommend these resources recognizing that Christians counselors have differing personalities and methods and sometimes an individual may need to seek further assistance to get the "right" counselor in order to receive help that will be lasting.

The two facilities for psychiatric assistance (Richland Springs and Three Rivers) do not provide help from a distinctively Christian perspective but are identified as resources available when dramatic intervention is required.

Keep in mind that there is a cost for counseling services provided and this information is available by contacting individual counseling centers.

Be assured that as you receive this information, it comes with our prayers that God will bring His grace, strength, and healing power into your life in days to come.
