Riverland Hills Baptist Church – Recreation Ministry

Position Summary
Riverland Hills Baptist Church is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Recreation Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our Recreation Ministry. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining excellent facilities and equipment, and is passionate about serving church members and guests through recreation programs.
The Recreation Assistant will assist with facility and field preparation, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and general operational support for recreational activities and events.
 
Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare athletic fields, gym spaces, and recreation facilities for practices, games, events, and ministry activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance, setup, cleaning, and organization of recreation equipment.
  • Monitor, track, and maintain inventory of recreation supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with equipment repairs and coordinate maintenance needs as necessary.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are safe, clean, and ready for use.
  • Support recreation leagues, camps, tournaments, and special events.
  • Assist with event setup and teardown.
  • Provide excellent customer service to church members, guests, coaches, participants, and volunteers.
  • Follow safety procedures and ministry guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreation Director.
 
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, moving equipment, and working outdoors.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to interact positively with children, youth, adults, and volunteers.
  • Previous experience in recreation, facility maintenance, athletics, or related fields is preferred but not required.
Work Schedule
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Primarily evening hours.
  • Monday through Saturday availability required.
  • Additional hours may be required for special events, leagues, tournaments, and seasonal programs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring physical exertion for extended periods.

Position Summary:
We are seeking dependable and motivated individuals to join our Weekend Facilities Team. Team members help maintain the church’s buildings and grounds, set up and break down spaces for events and services, and ensure that our campus is clean, safe, and ready for ministry activities.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine cleaning of buildings, including classrooms, restrooms, worship spaces, offices, and common areas.
  • Assist with room setups and breakdowns for worship services, meetings, and special events.
  • Support basic maintenance duties such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and painting.
  • Ensure church property is secure by locking/unlocking doors as needed.
  • Respond to facility-related needs of staff, ministry teams, and guests with a positive, service-oriented attitude.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous custodial, maintenance, or facilities experience a plus but not required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as ministry needs require.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Overview:
Riverland Hills Baptist Church is seeking a talented and reliable Sound Engineer/Technical Assistant to support our Modern Worship ministry. This individual will work closely with our Modern Worship Pastor and tech team to ensure a high-quality audio and production experience that enhances our worship gatherings and special events.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Operate and mix live audio during Modern Worship services and rehearsals
  • Set up, test, and troubleshoot audio, video, and lighting equipment as needed
  • Maintain and organize the stage and tech areas
  • Assist with midweek rehearsals, worship nights, and special events
  • Support recording and live stream needs for services and online platforms
  • Perform regular maintenance and inventory of sound and technical equipment
  • Collaborate with volunteers and staff to maintain a high standard of excellence
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in live sound mixing (digital consoles, IEMs, wireless systems)
  • Experience with ProPresenter, Dante, Ableton, and other worship-related technology is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work under pressure
  • A heart for worship and a commitment to supporting the mission of the church
  • Prior experience in church or live production settings preferred
Schedule & Compensation:
Regular availability on Sunday mornings and at least one midweek evening is required. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
