Adult Groups
We Gather to Grow
We believe discipleship happens best in the context of a small group.
Small groups are the primary vehicle by which we make disciples at Riverland Hills. Connecting to a small group is an important next step for every member and guest of our church. We have a variety of small groups and Bible studies to help you grow in your faith and connect with each other.
Groups give you the opportunity to discover community and close friends. As your group studies the Bible, you discover that God designed us to walk through life together, to grow spiritually together.
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
Acts 2:42
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Romans 12:10 (NIV)
What is a Life Group?
Life Groups are small groups that meet regularly to connect in a healthy biblical community, pursuing spiritual growth that results in a Living Faith for everyone, everywhere, every day.
Life Groups meet on campus every Sunday morning and at other times and locations throughout the week.
Riverland Hills Life Groups are committed to:
- Bible study: We interactively study God’s Word to make and mature disciples.
- Community: We treasure God’s gift of relationships needed to grow as disciples.
- Evangelism: We strategically live the Great Commission to make more disciples.
For help finding a group, contact Tim Hawkins, Discipleship Pastor at timh@riverlandhills.org.
What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

Disciple Workshop: Pursuing Real Discipleship
October 13 | 4:00 PM | Fellowship Hall 6
Discover the practical and intentional path for discipleship that will change your life and others. Real discipleship requires a commitment to engage God’s Word, accountability to others, and the multiplication of disciples. This workshop will show you how and help you connect with others in a new discipleship group. Prepare to grow in Christ and follow His intended purpose of disciple making.
Been in a discipleship group before? Have a group ready to multiply? This workshop is also for you.
To learn more, contact Tim Hawkins, Discipleship Pastor, at timh@riverlandhills.org
D-Groups begin with multiplication in mind, so the goal is for each member to then launch a new D-Group for growing disciples.
The purpose of a D-Group is:
- Deeper Bible study – individual Bible reading and discovery that includes journaling and verse memorization
- Accountability – strong relationships marked by personal sharing and prayer
- Multiplication – a reproducible process that results in disciples who make disciples

Connect and Grow Sunday Morning Bible Study
Confident in the Face of Hard Questions
As Christians, we find ourselves in a position where simply knowing what we believe is not sufficient. We must now also know why we believe it and why what we believe is the truth. This study looks at prominent questions individuals in secular society use to attack the Christian faith. Additionally, it equips believers with a way of understanding why biblical beliefs are true, along with an apologetic for standing strong against the untruths hurled against them. What the Bible teaches is true, and every Christian should put themselves in a position to express that truth in their words and through their daily lives.
- Does It Really Matter Which “Truth” I Believe?
- Is Jesus the Only Way to God?
- Won’t All People Ultimately Go to Heaven?
- Is Hell Real?
Led by Tim Hawkins, Discipleship Pastor. This study is ideal for anyone new to Riverland Hills or seeking a group Bible study experience. Studies are interactive and everyone will be encouraged to participate but not pressured. No homework, but reading your Bible is highly recommended. Open for all adults and you’re welcome to join any Sunday!

Sundays | 9:30 – 10:30 AM | Room FH6
