How to Serve (PLACE Experience)

Living Faith Seminar

Oct. 16 – Nov. 13 (5 Weeks)
6:00 – 7:30 PM
B201

God created each of us for a purpose. “For we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).

Maybe you’ve discovered your God-given purpose. Most people haven’t. Consider making a personal goal for 2024 and we’re going to help you reach that goal.

The PLACE experience includes 5 sessions of biblical equipping and personal discovery to help you find how God has uniquely designed you. Our goal is for you to know your gifts and discover how God has called you to serve Him and others.

Facilitated by Tim Hawkins, Discipleship Pastor.

No registration required.

How to Share the Gospel

Living Faith Seminar

Oct. 16 – Nov. 20 (6 weeks)
6:30 – 7:30 PM
Fellowship Hall 13

We often struggle to consistently share the Gospel with neighbors, co-workers, friends. Join us, to learn how to share your faith more often, more confidently and more effectively. In this 6-week seminar, we will learn: how to engage people who are far from God; what to share; how to answer peoples’ questions; and how to work through the fear and awkwardness of starting conversations with others about Jesus. By the end, you’ll be equipped to share your faith more often and more effectively as you live out your faith every day.

Facilitated by Jonathan St. Clair, Missions Pastor; and Chad Stillwell.

No registration required.

How to Pray

Living Faith Seminar

Oct. 16 – Nov. 20 (6 weeks)
6:30 – 7:30 PM
Fellowship Hall 11

Matthew Henry once noted “You may as soon find a living man who does not breathe, as a living Christian who does not pray.” Henry knew that to live in dependence on God was to be determined in prayer. This 6-week workshop will allow us to better understand and practice prayer, in our daily lives, based on scriptural principles and language. Our approach will be biblical, theological, and immensely practical, as we cultivate lives of earnest prayer.

Facilitated by Dr. Shane Parker, Executive Pastor.

No registration required.

How to Study the Bible

Living Faith Seminar

Oct. 16 – Nov. 20 (6 weeks)

How can I read and understand the Bible? The purpose of this 6-week course of study is to provide the essential knowledge and skills to study and comprehend the Word of God. This seminar will guide participants in sound principles and conventions of Bible interpretation, so that they may better understand God’s Word and apply it to their daily lives.

Facilitated by Dr. Ryan Pack, Senior Pastor.

Knowing Him

The Attributes of God and Everyday Life

Jan. 3 – Apr. 24 (17 weeks)
6:30 – 7:30 PM
Fellowship Hall

A.W. Tozer notably wrote “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” To think about and truly know God shapes everything else that we think (and how we live, based on those thoughts). How we envision and approach life, relationships, family, school, work, recreation, decision-making, even sickness and death, are a direct result of what we believe about God.

So, what comes to your mind when you think about Him? This study will allow us to better understand God, in all his glory, and genuinely consider aspects of our daily lives in light of who He is. Our approach will be biblical, theological and practical, so that every one of us might live more faithfully everywhere, every day.

Facilitated by Dr. Shane Parker, Executive Pastor.

No registration required.

Connect + Grow

Confident in the Face of Hard Questions

As Christians, we find ourselves in a position where simply knowing what we believe is not sufficient. We must now also know why we believe it and why what we believe is the truth. This study looks at prominent questions individuals in secular society use to attack the Christian faith. Additionally, it equips believers with a way of understanding why biblical beliefs are true, along with an apologetic for standing strong against the untruths hurled against them. What the Bible teaches is true, and every Christian should put themselves in a position to express that truth in their words and through their daily lives.

  • Does It Really Matter Which “Truth” I Believe?
  • Is Jesus the Only Way to God?
  • Won’t All People Ultimately Go to Heaven?
  • Is Hell Real?

Oct. 25 – Nov. 15 (4 Weeks)
6:30 – 7:30 PM
B201

Led by Tim Hawkins, Discipleship Pastor. This study is ideal for anyone new to Riverland Hills or seeking a group Bible study experience. Studies are interactive and everyone will be encouraged to participate but not pressured. No homework, but reading your Bible is highly recommended. Open for all adults and you’re welcome to join any Wednesday night or Sunday morning!
