Day School

To Know Christ and Make Him Known

At Riverland Hills Day School it is our joy to teach and provide care for children ages two to five years old.

Early childhood is a crucial time for foundational development. Our school provides a nurturing environment for children to grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. We believe in engaging the whole child through age appropriate play.

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Psalm 139:14

Your child will learn from the model of Jesus about humility, kindness, sharing forgiveness, patience, compassion and obedience while making some great new friends.

Learning

We are thankful for the opportunity to teach Christian principles as an integral part of all our activities. Our teachers include devotions, prayer, and Bible verses/stories in their daily activities. Students also attend chapel.

Each classroom has learning centers which may include dramatic play, blocks, math, science, computer, books, listening, art, games and music.

A variety of age-appropriate materials are available and rotated to maintain children’s interest. Children learn to relate to others, cope with difficulties, negotiate differences, regulate and express emotions, develop fine motor and gross motor skills, and develop creativity. Play is a vital part of the curriculum.

Common Questions

We accept children who turn 2 on or before September 1st of the current year through children that turn 5 after September 1st of the current year, a child whose birthday is past the acceptable date to attend public school for the year.

Yes, we are open all year. Our school year typically starts in August and ends in June and then we have a 7-8 week summer program offered to our existing families from the current school year. We do close one week in the summer for VBS.

No, your child must be 2 on or before September 1st of the active school year in order to attend. We attempt to follow the age requirement from the school districts to make sure your child will be on schedule to begin school when they are old enough (ex: 19-20 school year, beginning August 2019, a child that turns 2 February 5, 2020 would not be able to attend RHDS until the following school year beginning in August 2020).

No, the registration fee is nonrefundable in most circumstances.

RHDS is open from 7:30-5:30 PM Monday-Friday. Please check our yearly calendar for any days we may be closed.

We offer 2 day, 3 day, and 5 day plans with various time options. See all plan options under registration and tuition information for more details.

If your child is in our 3s or 4s class, they would need to be potty trained in order to attend.

All snacks and lunch should be brought from home.

Yes! We are a nut free facility. We cannot have anything that contains nuts or has been made in a factory that supplies products with nuts. Please provide nutritious lunch and snacks for your child and we ask that no soft drinks be sent.

We do extend a 5 min grace period before and after most plan times but outside of that, there would be a charge at the rate of $1 per minute (ex: drop off plan time of 9 AM child is clocked in at 8:55 AM, no charge but same child is clocked in at 8:50 AM the next day, an early drop off charge of $5 would apply for 5 min) (pickup plan time is 2:30 PM child is picked up at 2:35 PM no charge, but same child is picked up the next day at 2:50 a late pick up charge of $15 would apply for 15 min) teachers’ overtime.

Yes, we charge $5 per minute for every minute after 5:30 PM, we extend a 5 min grace period for most plans but because 5:30 PM is our closing time and we have to have at least 2 people if children are still present, we do charge an additional fee to cover paying teachers’ overtime.

There is a supply fee. These are charged twice during the school year (August and Jan.) and once for the summer if attending. They are charged based on a 2, 3 or 5 day tuition plan during the regular school year and which months your child attends during the summer.
